It’s awful isn’t it? Yields are down, we’ll be talking about the price of bread soon. They will have to assess the impact of water abstraction during the planning phases for Data Centres, even if they are NSIPs. We need to pressure govt to rethink if these Data Centres really are ‘essential’.

Interesting article. A couple of points - local opinion isn't bypassed by NSIPs - anyone can make their case to the examination. Also in the case of NSIPs blight payments are paid by the developer not the government.
