Driving to work in my new EV I was feeling kinda holier then thou with my lack of emissions but then I remembered if I am charging from a polluting grid the emissions are just elsewhere. So I looked up the % of renewables locally. This makes me 47.7% holier than thou. Get your shit together nspower.

NSPower (Emera) is owned by an American company. It was formally owned by the people of Nova Scotia. It is now an overpriced shell with a collapsing grid. We got screwed. Don’t trust money hungry corporations.

My personal info was stolen in that NSP data breach, including my bank account and SIN numbers. I think Nova Scotians should sue NSPower out of existence and reclaim it as our own again, a Crown corporation and an essential public utility instead of a privately owned monopoly.

He have 44 solar panels on our roof that produce surplus energy which we dump back onto the grid. We had them installed right before NSPower initiated its "Net Zero" that means customers can't create a surplus. This is greed. A surplus of power means lower rates.
