Can’t really articulate how furious it makes me to see gentile politicians wield fake charges of antisemitism against Mamdani. It’s not just the plain Islamophobia, it’s the fact that they’re needlessly stoking tensions in a way that puts Jewish New Yorkers at GREATER risk.

In NYC, it's a schlep to get to Manhattan & the other boroughs. It's minimum an hour to most parts of Manhattan from Brooklyn. I go. My Manhattan-based friends rarely make the effort aside from 3. At least 8 Brooklyn-based friends have left the state. Time for me to make new friends or leave NYC.
I have frequently traveled 65+ minutes by public transit (sometimes 2hrs) to see friends and family on a regular basis, or ones visiting. I volunteer for different things. I'm trying to book a dogsitter so I can go to a theme park with a friend for the fourth time this year. Community takes effort.
