I’ve also had writer friends utilize NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and the community around that as a way to get started on their creative projects

I think you might have your wires crossed right now. nanowrimo2.org and nanowrimo2.com seem to be different groups (also nanowrimo2.net)

Good to know! There’s so much that’s been out there about the scandals that I’m sure some stuff is missing / inaccurate. The NaNoWriMo2 website that the OP posted mentioned the “having some part” in things and links to a volunteer / leader post but it looks like this is a completely different site.

Ahhh! Interesting! I didn’t even know this one was a thing. It looks like they’re both called NaNoWriMo2 and NaNoWriMo 2.0 interchangeably 😳 But the “official” one is run by the same folks who ran the original NaNo.

It looks like NaNoWriMo2 is, in fact, run by the same folks 😬

So... NaNoWriMo2, huh? It's barebones, but the gross people are gone and I do like the bit I posted below. We gonna be participating? #nanowrimo

So if I'm mathing right, I got a legit 400+ words into my novel. If I count a non-november novel writing event hour I have over 2K though. Am I off to a good start, or just a solid burst right out the gate and then going to fizzle? We will see.
