On my usual summer sailing trip, this time including Naissaar, Tallinn, Porkkala, Örö. Traces of past presence of Soviet/Russian army in all of them, with tragic memories behind idyllic scenes.
Can't help thinking when sailing freely around the Baltic Sea that freedom is really worth defending.

Estonian authorities stopped the container ship *Baltic Spirit* (9765873) near Naissaar on Feb 3 in a joint operation with border police, special forces and the Navy. En route from Ecuador to St. Petersburg, the vessel is suspected of smuggling. The crew offered no resistance.

Unfortunately the British and French occupation of Naissaar was far too early for this reckoning, as it happened during the Crimean War. They did play at least one match of cricket there though.
