i also just think about this stuff bc of space and also deep sea diving and how it makes the properties of things work differently than they do at like, normal human habitation level/pressure... Whether that's decompression sickness or nitrogen narcosis or like, the effects of oxygen toxicity.

I have to say there is no accurate way to describe how weird narcosis is as someone who's experienced it once.
Someone else realized I was breathing on a dry tank and just didn't notice I didn't have air and had to tell me and I try to swim away from them cuz they were getting in my way.
