Happy Monday! Here are new views of an American lady butterfly sipping nectar from native narrowleaf sunflowers (Helianthus angustifolius) in our rain garden in Pemberton Township. Also known as swamp sunflower, this showy species prefers moist soils. 🌻

My milkweed is finally blooming! I have high hopes for some Monarchs to come visit, as they do flutter by from time to time. I believe this is Narrowleaf Milkweed (Asclepias fascicularis) a California (and other Pacific Northwest) native. #ContainerGardening
