I’m delighted to share that £5m of funding has been confirmed for the National Poetry Centre ✒️

When I learned that the funding for the Centre was under review, I began working with Simon Armitage & the Centre to lobby the Gov. to secure the funding.

Some of my poems are more important to me than others - Orcadia - because it was the first, Inside a Spiky Shell because it was for Zayn and Amani @dreambeastpoems.bsky.social and now one for The Hope Collective that will be published and distributed in NHS settings 🙏 #nationalpoetrycentre #poetry

Great to see Government money coming to #Yorkshire and supporting cultural organisations - @britishlibrary.bsky.social North and the #NationalPoetryCentre #Leeds #Literature
