I feel like they've been clear that they are going to round up every undocumented immigrant they can find, and probably even some legal ones. They're talking about ending birthright citizenship and "de-naturaliztion." I don't understand why they don't hear this and somehow think it won't be them

Some states had zero or minimal property qualifications. Those that had restrictive ones were fought by populists and relaxed these, and when this led to more Black Americans being able to vote, the racist Naturaliztion Act of 1790 was used to disenfranchise them. So it was always under dispute.
