#Neferess
Neferess and Arak'nai sharing a moment. I rarely draw fanart but these two ladies struck a chord.

The closest we have to an actual queer relationship is the *implication* of love beyond mere monarchal devotion between the Weaver and Neferess, in their optional Stay Awhile at the end of the base campaign.

Which is very cute! But also incredibly tucked away and not explicit.

Also her reunion with Neferess fucked me up

Neferess? Maximum slay, especially pretransformation.

Ansurek? Negative cuntage.

(Am I doing this right?)

Y'tekhi also shows up again! That little hint of emotion about Lilian is cute, especially if they heard about how she fought for Neferess.

historians will still say these two spiders were just good friends.

And I’m not including romantic implications (eg. Queen Neferess and Arak'nai). As sweet as this was, their sub plot could easily be removed and the plot still functions + it’s in a part of the plot where it can be ‘hidden’ from players without interest in the story – I’m talking ‘obvious’ queer rep.

The reveal about the Weaver and Neferess' relationship being so last minute and tucked out of the way makes me want to pull my hair out because it totally reframes the Weaver's motivations and would've made Azj-Kahet's story even more compelling.
September 15, 2025 at 9:32 PM
(On that note, are we ever gonna get any follow up on Neferess??? I genuinely feel like Azj-kahet has really become something of an afterthought)

It wasn't that long ago since we got art-cinematics like the ones mentioned above, with the last time being the Dragonflight Legacies series. I've definitely felt their absence in TWW, with the exception being the "Threads of Destiny" one we got with Queen Neferess.

Basically, I want MORE pls.

There is no heterosexual explanation for this conversation

if you tuned into my stream you may have gotten to hear me talk about and show the tragic spider yuri that im convinced is canon in TWW, and man... i just home Neferess and the Weaver can be happy and in love together finally..

For minor queer characters we have:

- Great Kyron
- Queen Neferess
- Widow Arak'nai
- Flynn

I'm trying to think if we have more.

One could make the argument that his ideology isn't great when one is facing down the barrel of an apocalypse; but eh.

I feel like if they want to do something with him that isn't as obvious, they'll have him be saved but altered, like Queen Neferess; and he'll learn that snake WMDs aren't the way.

They deserve happiness

They should reconnect the kingdoms of Ahn'kahet and Azj'kahet somehow, maybe Neferess might be able to bond with the undead Nerubians left over (if they've even any sentience, they might legitimately be zombies at this point) or at the very least, the few living ones left!

the ansurek/neferess/xal'atath cinematic where ansurek stabs neferess is so funny. xal'atath comes out of nowhere behind ansurek and neferess is like YOU......... and ansurek is like HER NAME IS XAL'ATATH. "HER PRONOUNS ARE THEY/THEM" ass sequence

Faerin is a flawed individual, and that's good! Strong in some aspects, weaker in others. I remember her when we fought Neferess and the sheer anger she held, yet she (and us) showed mercy when we learnt the truth that she was being controlled. And she's very friendly overall!

A Rainha Ansurek foi de arrasta. Rainha Neferess, sua vingança foi feita! Mais uma incursão de guild feita com os mais mais queridos #WorldofWarcraft

I think the stuff going on with Queen Neferess was at the very least a cliff hanger to her storyline.

Overall, I've kinda felt like War Within is rushing along many of its other plots and leaving them in the dust.

Forsaken going forward, and even in past expansions, SHOULD be recruiting former Scourge and other Undead-turned-ally. I don’t expect them to all be playable models, but at least present in Forsaken stories. Think of Queen Neferess’ story with Lillian Voss. Players (me included) loved Lillian’s -
Additional thought: Maintaining that tragic aspect and the need for them to do edgey stuff to survive would probably require the Alliance to continue being unaccepting of them, and that seems unlikely since modern Blizz doesn't like to paint the Alliance in any negative light, so that is also a

Don't worry, they'll do like they did with queen Neferess.

I don't know where she is and it will probably stay that way.

I did this stupid fanart after that video about Xal'atath and Neferess/Ansurek during the TWW release.
I should re-do it properly.

WoW having you go through a whole quest chain with a nerubian spymaster who is endlessly practical and clever but grows emotional and takes the second you discover her former queen is still alive but transformed into a monstrous form only to reveal it's because they're lovers is A GIFT for ME
