Our neighborgood association has been trying for years to get public restrooms at the Jeff Park transit center. But no one wants the maintenance responsibilities.

I say wealthier versus whiter because my neighborgood is diverse, but it's not at all poor and *initial* police responses to violent crime reports appear outsized.

Honeysuckle bushes are blooming in my neighborgood. The scent is delightful while walking home in the evening.

When I lived in the Bay my friends and I did a weekly “neighborGood” walk, exploring a new area. We lived in different places over the years, so we took turns being the guide. And we enjoyed interacting with people along the way. A fun solution if anyone is looking. I’m excited to do it again.

Springfield has a different problem in that it's civic virtue is incredibly weak & few in power are interested in interrogating why. It has the effect of giving outsized political salience to entities like NNCC even if it has important right-sized roles to play as neighborgood group and social org.
