Going to spin up a neo4j on the firehose to run some research. I'll be curious to see how it performs, though this will be a throwaway to evaluate algorithms that we might want to productionize via other means.

do any of my data journo friends know of a good alternative to neo4j that lets me do local (as in local network not neccessarily same machine) easy graph db analysis of a dataset without putting my shit on a proprietary cloud thingie or paying a bazillion dollars

I break out Neo4j every five years or so and can always come up with great questions that result in me throwing it away for the next five years.

The social cluster CGs don’t necessarily need ML, though I’m sure there are models which can generate them.
