The government is accelerating repair efforts on the flood-damaged Galchhi-Dhading to Syabrubesi-Rasuwa road with the goal of resuming traffic by Asoj. Significant progress has been made in Nuwakot, including completed repairs on the Galchhi-Bidur section and the installation of an Acro Bridge at Devighat. Meanwhile, work continues on restoring connectivity in Rasuwa and Nuwakot, with foundation work for a Bailey bridge underway at Betrawati and plans for another at Syabrubesi, despite the complete damage to the road section from Syabrubesi to Rasuwagadhi.

Two-way traffic has resumed on the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir after an 18-day disruption caused by flood damage and road collapse. A new track was constructed to bypass the damaged section, which was washed away by the Trishuli River, bringing relief to motorists and easing the shortage of essential supplies in Kathmandu. Traffic restrictions on the Narayangadh-Muglin road have also been lifted.

Minister Sunil Lamsal announced that damaged roads in flood-affected regions are expected to be operational by mid-September, with immediate priorities including alternative routes and cable crossings. To expedite reconstruction, the government has established eight task forces and is coordinating with local representatives for infrastructure details. Meanwhile, UNOPS has pledged technical and financial support for integrated development in Rasuwa, while concerns were raised about uncoordinated NGO activities.

Preparations are underway to partially reopen the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir in Dhading, which was blocked by flood damage, with authorities testing the road's stability with an empty gas bullet. The Nepali Army has also begun controlled blasting work to remove damaged sections and develop a new track after the highway was washed away by the Trishuli River, a process that involves intensive construction and allows for extended working hours. The prolonged closure has led to increased traffic on alternative routes like the Kanti Lokpath and has disrupted the supply of essential goods.

The Besisahar–Chame road in Manang will experience a full closure today between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to facilitate paving work. The 135-MW Manang Marsyangdi Hydropower Project is undertaking the 50-meter road paving at Naso Rural Municipality–3, Dharapani. Additionally, heavy vehicle traffic will be prohibited from 5:00 pm today until Sunday morning due to the road's narrowness.

The Nepal Army has begun installing a Bailey bridge over the Tadi River at Devighat Bazaar in Nuwakot to restore connectivity disrupted by recent floods. The construction aims to reconnect Devighat Bazaar and Jiling after floodwaters damaged transportation infrastructure, including a concrete bridge previously swept away. The new bridge is expected to ease travel and transportation for local residents.

Work has commenced to open a new track on the Krishnabhir section of the Prithvi Highway, which was blocked by a collapse on August 30. Excavators are digging from both ends to create a 350-meter long and seven-meter wide track, with completion expected within ten days. The collapse occurred after the Trishuli River eroded the road's foundation.

The Department of Roads is conducting technical studies to assess the damage and determine immediate and long-term solutions for reopening the vital transport route. Director General Dr. Vijay Jaisi stated that sections of the Galchi–Betrawati–Rasuwagadhi road and the Prithvi Highway have been severely impacted, with some roads completely destroyed and others cleared of deep mud. Vehicle movement from Kathmandu halted after a 20-meter section of the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir, Dhading, collapsed due to erosion from the Trishuli River. Authorities have opened alternative routes for essential traffic, diverting heavy vehicles via Naubise–Palung–Bhimphedi–Bhaise and light vehicles via Pharping, while technical teams assess repair options.

Following flood damage to bridges and highways, alternative routes have been established to restore connectivity in Dhading and Rasuwa districts. In Dhading, an alternative road to Dhadingbesi has become operational after a bridge collapse over the Trishuli River. Similarly, an alternative route has been opened to Dhunche in Rasuwa, reconnecting it to the road network.

The Prithvi Highway remains blocked due to significant mud and debris deposited by the Bhotekoshi River flood in Dhading's Galchhi and Gajuri rural municipalities. Authorities are utilizing heavy equipment for clearance, with efforts focused on reopening the crucial transport route.

The Dhulikhel-Dapcha section of the BP Highway is slated for a significant widening project, expanding the existing 5.5-meter road to 10 meters with blacktopping. A detailed project report has been prepared, and compensation for land acquisition is being distributed to facilitate the expansion. The project is estimated to cost Rs 3.79 billion.

In the last fiscal year, 51 kilometers of roads were blacktopped in Jhapa, according to Rajeshwar Mahato, head of the District Infrastructure Development Office. The office also completed construction of six suspension bridges, three government buildings, and other infrastructure projects. A budget of Rs 1.51 billion was allocated, with Rs 1.05 billion expended.

A comprehensive master plan has been developed to overhaul Kathmandu Valley's transport structure, aiming for a safe, orderly, and sustainable public transport system by 2050. The plan, developed with input from stakeholders like the National Planning Commission, includes extensive infrastructure programs and public transport reforms to improve connectivity and traffic management. Key initiatives focus on enhancing east-west and north-south networks, introducing new routes, and restructuring major intersections to address persistent traffic issues.
