OK, so I was a preteen nerdchild when it first aired, so I *did* watch for the Wesley Crusher subplots, but your point is taken.

I was a neurodivergent nerdchild, so a lot of my stuff was like the kind of swipe files/rosters of different spaceships and sci-fi guns like what you'd see in a 40K rulebook or Star Wars guide or a videogame booklet or something.
