The rule should be if the project is needed asap (couple days of sooner), net30/60 etc., doesn’t apply and instead you need to be paid on completion of the project. Watch how quickly schedules would be corrected.

I’m a big fan of cynical journo movies – I love a film with a nasty New York Mag profiler as the charming villain! — but although there are serious movies like Spotlight, I guess I wish there was a fun, serious ensemble show like ER about modern journalism

I keep detailed records of my early days of writing for multiple outlets I each needed to pitch to for laughable rates so I had to write several pieces for each per month. Then I faxed multiple invoices and had to wait to get paid—because Net30—just for all the money to be gone when it DID come
