Truly never beating the neuroatypical allegations

A deep interest in trains and tier 2 american soccer? You're either in the sickos committee or neuroatypical or both
No joke, this train conductor flew by historic Keyworth Stadium, stopped, and then backed up just to get a better view of the USL Jägermeister Cup.

Only at Keyworth.

fuck you "Sky." this is violence against neuroatypical posters and the global south

Saying academia can't accommodate the neuroatypical is about as correct as saying you have to be heterosexual to work in the performing arts.
Missed Stock saying autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia are ‘intellectual disabilities’ (???) making people ‘unsuited’ for academia. Okay, what. But did she ever talk to any of her colleagues, or did she sprint to her car after her lectures on how we know what a text means by asking the author?
From her piece in UnHerd:

Apparently this is similar to something said on Andor so I looked it up and it's spoken by a cute neuroatypical writer who uses a Polaroid SX-70 as an astronavigation tool so it's nice to see we extremely cool type guys get some representation
A basic tenet of my worldview is that fascism is very hard to sustain due to the fundamental rowdiness of people. You have to do so much for so long to contain it. You will never have enough guys. Eventually you just give up and start killing people but you go to sleep surrounded by the feral living

it’s only true for neuroatypical people like me I think
as a child I thought it was wildly unrealistic that Sims would immediately give up on all their goals and dreams if a single dirty plate was left on the ground but now that I’m an adult I understand that that was the most realistic part of the game

We invent antidepressants, and then promptly make the world so miserable even a neuroatypical person feels slow and sad all the time

These Reddit threads are cool because they’re neuroatypical people crowdsourcing life skills

As a neuroatypical person who isn't good at socializing, I find myself quite involved in SecUnit - minus the elite robot assassin part. 😂

Must have sucked to be neuroatypical before 1804. Spending all your time sitting around waiting for them to invent trains

Neuroatypicals doing neuroatypical stuff,

"Scholars who study curiosity have paid remarkably little attention to neuroatypical learners, let alone neuroatypical curiosity. Attention to diverse neural networks, however, requires precisely this."
Dots Out of Line: On Neuroatypical Curiosity
Educators should ask not who is curious, but how is each person curious?

The neuroatypical urge to replace human contact with a nice python script

That is exactly the way neuroatypical demand avoidance works.

None of these people are helping. They are just being mean.

At the very least report that they are either 1) malicious liars trying to create a heath crisis to justify targeting neuroatypical people or 2) too profoundly ignorant to be trusted to hold any office of public trust or operate a garbage disposal without assistance

The internet gave me a way to survive outside of the established institutions that my neuroatypical brain couldn't succeed within. I thought for so long that it was going to change the world for marginalized people for the better. The bottom has really fallen out of my world view.

"I'm a neuroatypical therefore I'm not responsible for what I do so I won't apologize for anything" is a reaaaally shitty posture

I say it about babies and breastfeeding. I say it about raising neuroatypical kids and “picky eater” discourse. So once again, for those in the back:

FED IS BEST
I see grocery/takeout shaming discourse going around again, so this is your periodic historian reminder that cooking from scratch daily while working has never been sustainable, and for millennia everyone either relied on takeout & restaurants or ate in huge households w/ big dorm-like group dining.

nobody is talking about this but whenever Albert Speer did the Roman Salute it was actually more neuroatypical- rather than Nazi- coded. my latest in Newsweek

PSA: neuroatypical != free pass to be an asshole

"it's exhausting to try and package my thoughts in a way that isn't perceived by others as aggressive/offensive"

sure is. and not being born with the magical "others hear what I mean" filter sucks. but it's learnable. I believe in you.

It was when my son was diagnosed with autism that I later discovered I am neuroatypical—and so is my mother.

We were able to adapt my son's schooling, and since then he's really taken off. As for me, I had a horrible school experience, and I still haven't gotten over it. 😅

Now people are seen 😍
My AuDHD diagnosis “late” at 47, is what made me see the signs in my late father (and my mother, not that I’m ready to have that conversation with her.)

We’ve been here all along. It’s us finally being f*cking SEEN. Especially us ND women who mask so heavily we don’t even know how not to do so.
He *knows* he's lying. He's practically quoting from a piece I wrote years ago (&he's written a couple of BS screeds focused on me). Anyway, I wrote this in *2012& & considerable further evidence of undx'd autistic elders has only accumulated since.

Railroads?

On the one hand, *no wonder* my AuDHD went unnoticed into my 40's!

Annnnd we are SOOOOOOO neuroatypical!😂🤣

Being neuroatypical is an excuse for inadvertently offending or annoying people because you're not aware that what you're doing is annoying or offensive. You're aware of it and doing it intentionally. That makes you a dick. Being neuroatypical is not a license to be a dick.
