the neurofuzzy is brand new to me, but I'm already liking it a lot. the stove, well... I do miss having a gas range lol

Oh: the neurofuzzy isn't designed for longer grain rice like jasmine or basmati, you gotta manually tweak to get the right ratio. Their ~$180 micom one *does* come with a long grain setting and a slow-cooking brown rice setting. Probably will also last 15 years.

the gross thing about getting it is that I already have a zojirushi neurofuzzy rice cooker that i use all the time but it doesn't do the tahdig so so obviously i need a second rice cooker. also fwiw the vegan persian recipe site i like has recipes for persian rice cookers so i know i will use it 🙃

more of you should get a fancy rice cooker if you are able because it is seriously some of the best money i've ever spent. the zojirushi neurofuzzy has increased my consumption of rice ten fold and my enjoyment of rice one hundred fold. it's so fucking good

i haven't! never felt that i could do biryani justice at home. i only cook medium grain rice so i can't directly compare. i've heard some people say that it struggles with it but based on a quick google, seems like all you gotta do is adjust the water ratio (author using a neurofuzzy as well):
