And another tyranid pack arrived, 11 termagants. Also yes im acknowledging the horse cock weapon, insane.
Unlike Orks, the tyranid packs take up a lot of room so i won't get neurogaunts or genestealers for now, but instead im gonna be getting heavy tyranid units for a while

Back when the Leviathan box released, and we got all the glorious new Tyranid kits, I had a wild idea to do an alternative build or Kitbash for all of them. I started a bunch, but never finished.
UNTIL NOW.
First up: #Tyranids Mindslaves, to count as #Neurogaunts! Flowers to Moloch.

It’s too bad the Barbgaunts, Neurogaunts, Von Ryan’s Leapers, Neurotyrant, and Neurolictor don’t have rules in Oldhammer / Midhammer, because I REALLY like the models.
(though Neurotyrant can be run as The Doom Of Malantai, I suppose)

…weapon organisms could be attached in all kinds of weird ways, but it was still the same basic body map.
But anyway; the Leapers, Barbgaunts, and Neurogaunts are really really good and I love them!

Oooo! I love the colors and you even got the bases done! I haven't touched my bases yet for my hive army xD
I am doing a bug themed army for my Tyranids: Hive Jorogumo. I don't have Neurogaunts yet, but I am planning on painting them like Hissing Cockroaches.

A while ago I’ve won a giveaway by Jonas Neumond which brought me a kit of these lovely fellas.
Now they are ready to absorb some enemies. Fun and very relaxing paintjob :)

The annoying tax for taking 20 blobs of neophytes instead of tens rules out GSC….
And being a pedant - your list actually has four more minis than you’ve listed: neurogaunts come in blobs of 11.

Getting there! I have 4 boxes of painted Nids -including 80 termingaunts, 18 Von Ryan’s, 30 genestealers, 44 neurogaunts, 9 riper swarms, 3 psychopage, 3 screamer killers, at least 1 of each the bigger guys waiting for the new ravager models and then will get 30 gargoyles and I’m pretty much there!

Finished the Neurogaunts! Basing tomorrow. That wraps the Leviathan ‘nids, but I have 20 more termagants to finish my list for the Open on Saturday.

I'm thinking neurotyrant with tyrant guards for protection, neurogaunts spreading the synapse love midfield behind gaunt profiles, neurolictor stalking and deep striking, backend bio/pyrovores causing aggro and denying movement, genestealers with a broody attacking tanks...FUN!

Neurogaunts are complete - pretty quick job on these, but it’s mostly shades and contrast paints which helps. First time I’ve used #leviathan purple contrast on the carapace, I quite like it!

I started with the other side. If I get all the tyranids done by Xmas I’ll be very happy, (leapers, neurogaunts and rippers left to begin). Have put some paint on the Captain though.

And the full model/diorama is complete!
Also this "Imp" Neurotyrant variant is canonically throwing Neurogaunts with its powers to stop and block both range and melee attackers.
