Schumer enabled GOP power plays, failed to protect democracy, and abandoned the people when it mattered most. He’s lost the fight—and our trust. It’s time for new leadership.

@schumer.senate.gov Time To Step Down

@dearlstephens.bsky.social lays out the case perfectly here 🔥

Certain Democrats literally THREW AWAY the very little leverage that we had to stop Trump.

My future’s on the line, so is social security, medicare, and we caved to Trump & Musk’s billionaire welfare.

If some Democrats refuse to stand up for working people, it’s time to elect new people who will.

@schumer.senate.gov must go. We need someone who will #FightLikeHell for #WeThePeople🔥💪🗽⚖️ #NewDemLeadership time for decorum is over
I remember when Schumer refused to bring the Military Justice Improvement Act to the floor. It had 66 yes votes. I never got an answer as to why. They ended up watering it down and folding it into the NDAA.

WOW! During a time of crisis, when people are asking if you switched sides, you’re officially part of the problem.

STEP DOWN CHUCK.

The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents 800,000+ federal and D.C. workers (i.e. people directly impacted by a government shutdown), is urging senators to vote no on the House GOP's CR.

In other words, AFGE is saying a government shutdown is less bad than this GOP bill.

I asked Schumer about this last night and his answer was basically that they’re wrong.

Of course, having to stay in DC past today would have interfered with Schumer’s book tour which begins Monday.

Hm.
Yo @durbin.senate.gov, no one is picking up your Senate phone and you don’t even have a voicemail. Vote no on cloture and the spending bill or I will do whatever it takes to make sure the next Senator from Illinois has basic constituent services set up during business hours.

Democrats on Capitol Hill are waging an internal war against one of their own after the GOP successfully muscled through the Senate a partisan spending bill that drew the votes of Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, eight other Democrats and an independent.

Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Remember how Schumer asked Biden to step aside? It’s time for Senate Democrats to make a similar request for Schumer step aside from Senate leadership. We need a Senate leader who understands how to lead the opposition.

Collaborators with the fascists.

10 Democrats voting for this budget bill is so mind numbingly tone deaf and out of touch that I’m trying to quell the anger of 5000 suns.

For context, this bill was so cruel, it gave Democrats at least until 2028 to campaign how horrible it is. How do we do that when Democrats passed it?

Let’s face it, Schumer has been terrible even before this. It is time for new leadership. He isn’t the person for this moment in history, and the longer he clings to power the worse off we all are.
