The local New Forest, Hampshire, UK ponies seem to have just started dropping their foals. This is at the later end of the foaling season and may be due to t he lack of rain and so the lush grass that is needed for mother and foal to thrive.

Hunting for locally scarce New Forest foals this morning I found the gorse is still in abundant, exuberant, yellow flower, smelling strongly of coconut. Not a foal in sight though. I finally spotted this one with its mother. A little beauty it must be said. #newforest #newforestpony #newforestfoal
