A developer is asking the Town of New Scotland Planning Board for a Special Use Permit to build and operate a 4.5MW Battery Energy Storage System on a 10.76-acre parcel at 125 Vista Blvd.; the project would lease 7 acres and occupy under 1 acre. The board is scheduled to consider the permit at its Nov. 4, 2026 meeting.

The commission is scheduled Oct. 5, 2026, to review proposed preservation legislation including higher fines for illegal demolition, creation of a preservation easement, and measures to stop demolition by neglect; Dan Leinung is reviewing Bethlehem law for guidance.
