60-year-olds around a 61-year-old going into the newsagent in 2069, "Go on mate, get us a few packs."
Raging insanity.

If you were born in 2009, there will now be things it's illegal for you to do that it remains perfectly legal for someone born in 2008 to do. Forever, apparently.

Textbook second-class citizenship.

EVEN IF it's "in a good cause".

I'm old enough to remember the days you walked into the newsagent and just took a paper and walked out. That's definitely the way it worked.

A sunny Sunday, so I went to the Proper Old School Newsagent and bought some jellies, as if it’s still 1985 😎😎😎

@jimmfelton.bsky.social I’m just listening to to the Sunburn audiobook and yesterday got to the “Stick It Up Your Junta” section about the Falklands reporting. Today in my local newsagent I see this. 43 years and the same shit.

Its almost as if having papers delivered by the newsagent and put through the letterbox wasn't such a bad system. Progress.

yeah my 1983 weekly allowance was ten pence, which in those days bought you ten to fifteen sweets at the newsagent.
My weekly allowance was ten cents. You read that correctly.

Today my dentist told me that she was on Grafton St and saw a seagull walk into a newsagent, grab a bag of crisps and toddle out again – then the seagull and its friends tried to open the bag. She told the newsagent who said it happens all the time.

My local newsagent stocks the conspiracy rag 'The Light' because it's a free paper. Since it's free, whenever I see it there I take all the copies home with me to burn in my fire. They probably think they have great local readership.

Lars Bohinen at White Hart Lane from this week in 1994.

That finish. You’d be lucky to find filth like that on the top shelf at your local newsagent.

As I said to my newsagent, “Everything that’s wrong, poisonous and stupid about this country, please…. I’m sorry, I meant The Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail, please.”
