Newsify is a an excellent rss for desktop too. You can patch in subreddits too.

As another point of reference: I just added them to Feedly and they're working fine -- they show the brief description as intended. I created a new Newsify account, added the 3 available feeds, and saw the same error as CZEdwards.

Newsify doesn’t seem to have an import opml function either. Maybe you’ll have to be logged in to use it, but I’m not giving another app my email address. I’m tired.

I use Newsify on iOS. There’s also Feedly.

Ooo, it’s been a while since I looked at Newsify. They used to have both iOS and macOS apps. Maybe I need to give it another look.

so technically every podcast app is one, but yeah - i use newsify on my phone (because it's the closest to google reader as i could find) & i've heard about feedly as well

i use Newsify on my phone. it’s about the closest i’ve found to google reader (rip) but idk if it works on desktop as well

I can't recommend an RSS reader like Newsify or Feedly enough. Connect to AP and a few other non-paywalled trusted sources and just check it once in awhile. No comments. No spiraling. Just news.

i still love using a rss feed (newsify is my preferred one), but you have to admit it’s never going to be as nice as it was with google reader

It's showing in both list and individual view. I checked on Web and Android App for Feedly, and both show the CPSC feed descriptions.
Can't check the Newsify app, unfortunately, 'cause I don't have an iOS device handy.

V happy with NetNewsWire and both Feedbin or iCloud syncing. Though also been meaning to check out lire and Newsify — I’d like something just as simple and native but with more powerful smart folders
