Just learned that the Tam Kung Temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Canada (based in Victoria's Chinatown), is trying to raise funds to build a reception and interpretation centre to preserve this important part of Chinese Canadian history.

The National Trust of Canada's #NextGreatSave is a competition to protect Canada’s historic places. This year Sainte-Marie (NS) is in the running—and one of Canada’s most endangered heritage landmarks. Vote daily until April 24, 2026 to help save it

Would y'all be willing to do me a little favor and vote for this church? My great grandfather helped build it and if it wins they get a 50 grand preservation grant (it's a museum of culture and community center now, not so much a church). You can vote once a day but even one vote helps.

Help support one of #yyj 's local heritage sites! The Tam Kung Temple is taking part in the National Trust's Next Great Save. Cast your vote for the temple here: nationaltrustcanada.ca/what-you-can...

@ass.golf here's a worthy thing to ponder that will help you not think about the turbocharged shittiness of the world today. 👍 And it's about Canada!
