Volume 6 of Ring ni Kakero 1 finishes up Ryuji vs. Kawai to end the Champion Carnival, before moving straight on to the Japan vs. USA Chapter... where all but the last two fights are covered here. Yeah, the "Nichibei Kessen" isn't a long story at all in the manga.
