I’ve always had the impression Nintendo designs each console to support one first-party launch title, like Super Mario 64, Wii Sports, or Nintendoland. If the console supports any other games, it’s just a bonus.

It’s funny how Scott the Woz Wii U videos are having the opposite effect and kind of have put me back into wanting one but idk it would basically be a glorified WW HD and TP HD with Nintendoland as a treat machine

I actually LOVE the idea of making a Zelda with this marionette inspired artstyle (in fact I loved the artstyle of the Nintendoland Zelda stages that was a bit along those lines) and I think it would have been great IF it was for a brand new entry in the series, but Ocarina of Time isn't that. /

Several of the first party Wii U games were also ports (Wind Waker), or essentially DLC (Luigi U). A couple barely count as games (Game and Wario, Nintendoland). I can see your concern but least they’re actually publishing games. With Sony you can count PS5 exclusives per year on one hand.

Oof bad luck for ride uptime. Did you ever get a chance to try Nintendoland rides? We had a similar experience with the donkey Kong coaster when we went. Wasn’t up for early access and ended up stuck at 3+hr waits all day (nope!)
