My friend Scott has the most incredible yard and garden with no turf grass anywhere. Every month of the growing season has so many new things to see. This is the backyard today.

Opinion | I’m no genius with genuses, but your garden is killing the Earth
Your lawn and garden are helping to doom the Earth. If you want to save the planet, all you really need to do is plant a single oak tree.

Who needs grass when you can have clover? This is our side yard, the clover is slowly filling in all the open spaces.
We mow it maybe once a month in the active growing season May- July. #nolawns

My local native plant nursery opened presale orders yesterday and they started selling their shrink your lawn kits for the season. #SupportLocal

I moved in January and it’s challenging not to take on this whole acre all at once but every spring I’ll take on what I can. #NoLawns

My friend has perfected a no-grass yard at his house and I'm WILD with jealousy. It has taken 15 years, so I need to manage my expectations, but it is incredibly diverse and indescribably gorgeous. This is the early spring view. I will update it through the year.

Anyone else have a food forest?

I recently purchased a home and started the arduous task of building my forest from scratch. Ordered lots of seeds today to start in my greenhouse and some trees are on their way and soon I’ll start the arduous task of removing grass. #NoLawns #Permaculture

Things are definitely still filling in, but its been so satisfying seeing how far the first area I started #unlawning has come. Converting another 2000 sq ft. to natives this year!
