Honkai Nexus Anima, Nodusfall, Petit Planet, Varsapura are all using AI in some way, primarily art. Hoyo also states that using it on VAs must be with explicit consent #Hoyoverse

w/o defending hoyoverse's many problems and practices, this is all true, but cygames has had an older and more foundational base of work along with the japanese ACG entertainment & investment ecosystem, which hoyo really reached parity to in 2021 - accordingly, nodusfall is not a character gacha (!)
i think what pushes people from apathy to antipathy towards Hoyoverse is that they do not drop the business model for ANYTHING. all profits from the current casino go only to the next casino. cygames will also run your pockets dry but then sometimes you'll see their name and something normal happens

Monster Hunter, Skyrim, Elden Ring, and Dragon's Dogma all have fights with dragons that play completely differently from one another, and then Nodusfall comes in blatantly ripping off Monster Hunter. Baffling

I don't know. I genuinely believe gaming is the best it's ever been. Even with the rise of generative AI, executive meddling, and failed live service projects. If you only pay attention to the big shows, then sure, inert AAAs, gacha games, and uninspired MMOs will make you believe gaming is dead.
