#Non-Prosecution
You sure? Coz non-official acts of corruption are not immune from prosecution.

Johnson considers those protected by the Alex Acosta non-prosecution agreement "innocent," FYI.
Welker: Should all of the Epstein files be released?

Speaker Johnson: All credible evidence. The word credible is important because you have to protect innocent people’s names and reputations whose names might be intertwined in these files

Why didn’t Dems put Trump in jail over the Epstein stuff? Because Alex Acosta and Alan Dershowitz got Epstein a deal that came with a non-prosecution agreement for Epstein’s clients and coconspirators. Then trump rewarded Acosta with a job as Labor Secretary.
He’s got the chalkboard out. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The Times also notes that no lawyer is listed for Robinson. That's concerning given Trump's penchant for "supplying" lawyers to political enemies. See: Cassidy Hutchinson, Carlos de Oliveira, even the Epstein survivors in the non-prosecution agreement times. 2/

Epstein effectively bought protection in 2008: a federal non-prosecution deal that promised non-prosecution for unnamed “potential co-conspirators,” in exchange for minor state pleas and extraordinarily lenient custody.

🧵 WHY WERE HUNTER BIDEN'S CASES UNPRECEDENTED?

(1/5) Hunter Biden was investigated for FIVE years by the DOJ.

After FIVE years of investigations, the Trump-appointed US Attorney, David Weiss, in Delaware agreed with Hunter's lawyers to a non-prosecution agreement.
Hunter Biden’s TWO criminal cases were political prosecutions in order to attack President Joe Biden.

The DOJ pursued unprecedented charges after a high-pressure campaign by Trump and his surrogates.
BREAKING: President Biden is expected to issue a pardon for his son Hunter Biden, according to a senior White House official.

Left- At least 40 minors gave sworn statements to the FBI that Jeffrey Epstein raped and trafficked them. An 82 page document was prepared. Alex Acosta declined and signed a non-prosecution deal....before he was confirmed as Labor Secretary.

I feel like this point is weirdly under-discussed in the discourse! Acosta himself approved Epstein's notorious sweetheart non-prosecution agreement. By elevating Acosta to the cabinet later, Trump seemed to ... pretty clearly reward that?
trump made the prosecutor who gave epstein a pass the secretary of labor!

gaetz non prosecution too, though that one was less consequential for the future of humanity
The sad fact of the matter is that dilly-dallying constantly on prosecuting Trump was, in fact, pursuing politics. It was being overly concerned about politics instead of justice and, thus, pursuing politics. Merrick Garland is one of the biggest failures in modern American life.
Garland’s message to DOJ staffers: ‘You have worked to pursue justice, not politics’
In his farewell address, the attorney general told his staff to follow norms “especially when it is hard.”

Trump and his pedo defenders have completely ignored the survivors - going all the way back to the Alex Acosta non-prosecution agreement (they violated the law by not informing the survivors), to the motions for grand jury materials, to the meeting with convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

Todd Blanche denied the attorney representing over 20 Epstein victims to attend meeting with Maxwell

Jack Scarola, a lawyer representing roughly 20 Epstein victims, said he asked to attend the Maxwell interviews but was DENIED !!!

Why the secrecy ???

1. A reminder that former Trump Labor Secretary Alex Acosta — the former U.S. attorney who negotiated the highly controversial 2008 non-prosecution agreement with Jeffrey Epstein — now serves on the board of NEWSMAX.

Oversight Republicans are demanding to speak with the Clintons, James Comey, and Eric Holder about Jeffrey Epstein.

Not subpoenaed: Alex Acosta — the U.S. attorney who made the 'sweetheart' non-prosecution agreement with Epstein. Acosta was Trump's first term Labor Secretary.

I was against Hochul removing an elected official based on allegations.

Now, now that it’s clear that Eric Adams is willing to abrogate his official responsibilities in order to curry favor with the presidential administration in exchange for a non prosecution agreement, she has to remove him.
Before at least there was the argument that the ordinary criminal justice process should play out without gubernatorial interference. That argument is gone now. There is no excuse for leaving Adams in place a day longer.

your honor, the prosecution is like a non alcoholic drink they have zero proof

In 2007, a secretive non-prosecution agreement halted the active FBI investigation into the scope of Epstein’s abuse—halting discovery of additional victims and shielding all influential figures from exposure.

The 2007 non-prosecution agreement (NPA) was designed to suppress further inquiry.

I always like to remind people that Steven Pinker contributed expert testimony to the legal defense of Jeffrey Epstein that led to his non-prosecution agreement.
I've wanted to share this for a while:
What's my beef with Steven Pinker?

What follows is not my usual content. I'll explain why I'm disgusted with Pinker & why I think he owes an apology to Jeff Epstein's victims for his active role in Epstein's defense.

First, some caveats & CW (obviously):

If all you've got is an informal non-prosecution agreement, you don't want to be committing crimes with a statute of limitations that reaches beyond 2028
Some of Paramount's directors are worried that settling giving President Trump $15 million to settle his lawsuit and maybe smooth the way to his administration's approval of their merger could expose them to criminal liability for bribing a public official.

The BARE MINIMUM you do to a criminal defense lawyer who signs a non-prosecution agreement with HIS OWN CLIENT is disbar him.

But that is insufficient for Todd Blanche, who took an OFFICIAL ACTION as acting AG as part of a BRIBE to hold his job permanently.

He must be indicted.

They KNOW why some trans people fiercely protect this information.

They KNOW how profoundly private it is, how disclosure can be dangerous, yet they nevertheless contemplate NON-DISCLOSURE becoming part of the basis of a rape prosecution.
