Pretending gerrymandering can be banned while we still have voting districts may be naïve. To cure the systematic problems that keep producing nonrepresentative election results, we must eliminate districts in favor of rank-ordered/instant-runoff cumulative voting (which also obsoletes primaries).
The threat of contempt worked. It’s over. Missouri republicans can’t use their stupid map for the midterms. The old map is still gerrymandered to hell, but we can correct that by adding seats to SCOTUS in 2029 and banning gerrymandering (among other things, of course)

I can see why this article was retracted. Focusing on a bit I know about; this is summarising the methodolgy reflexive thematic analysis... in a way that's misleading.

yeah this is the talking point that seems the fakest to me bc obviously the chamber whose votes represent 66x more people in california than wyoming is undemocratic. if you like representative democracy you should at minimum be willing to cop to this institution's nonrepresentative nature.
Weird that abolishing the Senate gets included as one of the radical proposals. There's no path to it, but it's not crazy. Most healthy democracies don't have a special upper chamber. And yeah, not letting land vote and veto *would* help solve a lot of our problems.
