The Alberta Energy Regulator refused to answer questions about a meeting between its senior execs and reps of Australian billionaire Gina Rinehart’s Northback Holdings Corp. held less than a month before the regulator granted permission to do work on the controversial Grassy Mountain project.
With Northback ramping up their PR campaign for their "new" grassy mountain mine proposal (still an open pit mine), Smith was asked if she supported it today.
Again she played the "well, it's an advanced project so what can you do?"
The UCP declared it an advanced project.
