Decent horror story. I enjoyed the writing, though was eh about some aspects of the story. Fat man is a walking heart attack, epilogue didn't make much sense, main character just constantly stacks injuries...

I'm currently reading Duma Key by King. It's good so far.
I read The Troop by Nick Cutter. He's good. He drops you right into the middle of what's going on and then provides the backstory.
Big Dark Sky by Koontz was good.
Never Flinch by King.

20th Century Ghosts, his first short story collection, is my absolute favorite thing that he's published. His short stories are transcendent. That's what got my dad hooked as well. For his novels I'd recommend (obviously) The Fireman, and NOS4a2. Both great, and VERY different from one another.

Is Laura your wife? If so she grows on me daily, and she was already pretty high up there. As I said, I've been told The Fireman is a long one. I read very quickly, and as I was reading electronically had no frame of reference. I believe NOS4a2 is a lot shorter. And it's a page turner.

骨子があって肉がある、その肉をしっかり味付けが出来ているおかげで読みやすく、骨のおかげで食べ方を誤らず読める。
出し方も秀逸で、最も美味しい部分は最初にお出しされた品と相関がある。
最初「出しなよ…あんたのインナーワールドを…！」みたいな展開だったらどうしようかと思ったけど杞憂だった。能力の性質はゲートキーパーの方が近い。
悪役の悪とは削がれてなお健在な嗜虐性にあって、やる事は児童養護。
子供のまま大人になったキャラクターたちが中心の展開は、グロテスクでホラー。
なにより、キングが書いていた書き方とそっくりで、彼の言ってることは嘘偽りないやり方なんだなって感心した。
