(Not so) Funfact: Würden wir in unserer Eisbude so arbeiten, hätte die Lebensmittelüberwachung uns schon längst die Schlüssel für die Eisküche abgenommen. Regeln gelten halt nicht immer auf die gleiche Weise.

So after watching this, here's my opinion.
It's important to say thank you to a machine we're interacting with in certain ways, not because it has feelings because it does not. Not because it might one day have feelings.
It's good habit to express gratitude for service.
