Karu viikko peltiennustajalla: tuoreiden tilastojen myötä Suomen Pankin automaattiarvio kuluvan neljänneksen talouskasvusta yli puolittui viime viikosta (0,82->0,35%). Plussalla yhä mennään, mutta huojuvaa on yhä käsitys talouden käänteestä.
Ennustan tänään, että #BKT kasvaa 0.35 % ensimmäisellä vuosineljänneksellä edelliseen neljännekseen verrattuna.

Ja juuri, kun jotain positiivista oli näkyvillä, niin tämän päivän luottamusluvut rankaisivat. Vuosikasvu enää 0,08% eli käytännössä nollakasvussa ollaan (taas). Sellaista se on nowcasting-homma.

Viime viikon tietojen mukaan Suomen talous on 0,68 %:n kasvuvauhdissa. Toisin kuin olisi voinut luulla, huhtikuun aikana tulleet tiedot ovat lähes tuplanneet BKT:n kasvuodotuksen Suomen Pankin nowcasting mallissa.

Vaikka Tilastokeskuksen ennakolliset tiedot näyttivät 3,5 %:n annualisoitua kasvua ekalle vuosipuoliskolle, Suomen Pankin Nowcasting pääsee vain 1,85 %:n vuosikasvuun tällä hetkellä. Se on sitä kasvun väreilyä se!

Nyt on katsottu tarpeeksi kauan ja näyttää siltä nowcasting-mallin (Suomen Pankki) mukaan, että vuosikasvu on kivunnut jo 1,54 prosenttiin. Suomen talous siis jatkaa hyvällä kasvu-uralla, minne se on päässyt vuoden 2023 jälkeen. Valitettavasti kasvu ei luo työpaikkoja.

We now have 4% handles for concurrent measures of US GDP growth (the Atlanta Fed's GDPNow estimate) and headline CPI and PCE inflation (the Cleveland Fed's Inflation Nowcasting).
