The primary on top is a series of circles that have been stitched in dark blue (high explosives), orange (tamper), glitter white/grey (air gap), light blue (plutonium) and glittery orange (deuterium & tritium boost gas in center) in chain stitch for borders and french knots for fill. The (nominal) interstage is a rectangle below the primary outlined in bright yellow chain stitch. There is a partial fill of semi-randomly oriented purple & green seed stitches w/ a dozen or so yellow french knots. The secondary is a rectangular grid of green lines w/bright glitter green couching & the sparkplug a banded chain stitch of bright orange. The borders of secondary are light blue. The hohlraum is a dusty color in palestrina knots.

I have made further progress on the #NuclearEmbroidery that I am making for my advisor.

I have some fill/couching to do in secondary and then the final bit will be stitching the hohlraum/radiation case.

Interstage is my first serious long-and-short attempt & it came out ok.
A partially stitched notional Teller-Ulam thermonuclear explosive design on fabric in an embroidery hoop. The primary is concentric circles of chain stitch and french knots in metallic red, ping, dark & light blue, & metallic white. Secondary is a long-and-short color fade from red-orange at top to very light pink at bottom using 5 thread colors. The long, rectangular secondary only has the outlines stitched in back split stitch in dusty orange. The backside of the previously described embroidery showing a relatively neat canvas with area for improvement.

She likes purple (I also like purple).

First time doing Turkey Work (the floofy part) in a while. I may do the spark plug in turkey work on the next one.

A fully stitched notional Teller-Ulam thermonuclear explosive design on fabric in an embroidery hoop. The primary is concentric circles of chain stitch and french knots. Outermost torus is A green chain stitch then tangerine chain then purple french knots, bright yellow chain stitch, & at center are dark blue French Knots. Interstage, just below primary, is a 4 color raised buttonhole band of (vertically top to bottom) black, tangerine orange, silver, & black. It is slightly wavy and uneven. The long, rectangular secondary has a tangerine orange border of split backstitches. It has a fill of couched vertical and horizontal dark red glitter thread. The sparkplug in the center is a raised stem stitch band in glitter thread Trans Pride flag colors (left to right): white, blue, pink, blue, pink, white. It looks like a fuzzy rainbow of color. Radiation casing is orange Hungarian Braided Chain stitch.

The sparkplug is a banded chain stitch with black foundation stitches and a bright red knot thread. The radiation casing is black Palestrina knots.

I have added alignment markings for better line precision to the printed pattern I put on the fabric backing.

Plus and minus signs for alignment are visible at edges of fabric.

Rectangular secondary is below and is a blue grid with red couching at intersections & orange buttonhole stitch running down middle as spaek plug. Radiation casing is dusty orange Palestrina knots. Secondary is a long-and-short color fade from red-orange at top to very light pink at bottom using 5 thread colors. The long, rectangular secondary only has the outlines stitched in back split stitch in dusty orange. Close examination shows that some warping of pattern during stitching means some lines are less straight than desired or intended.

I am making progress on a #NuclearEmbroidery for my friend Amanda.

There is almost an entire skein of embroidery floss in the french knots making up the high explosive of the primary.

I made some significant progress on filling in the high explosives of the primary with French Knots.

Prior experience tells me the HE will devour near an entire skein of embroidery floss.
