#Nurtec
a combination of nurtec and edibles have at least let it up enough for me to eat

I'll be honest, I like the licorice-esque taste of Nurtec.

I was on Imitrex but liked Nurtec more because of it being so fast acting, and it let me remain functional rather than knocking me out.

Just jumped to Ubrelvy but haven't had an attack yet so I haven't tried it out.

Nurtec made me feel ill bc they have an artificial mint flavour that turns my stomach. And my kidneys are shot so definitely a consideration.

That sucks. Do you mind if I ask how Ubrelvy has worked for you? I was on Nurtec but switched to Ubrelvy because of less kidney side effects.

i know the fall will get my ass regardless but this is ridiculous. i have taken so much nurtec in the past two weeks.

I hate that I cannot have triptans, or meds in the migraine cocktail. (Compazine or Reglan) My insurance refuses to cover rescue meds like Nurtec while I'm on Emgality, even though it isn't working at all. Depakote in IV kinda worked, but didn't help the thumping BP headache. Fuck my life, man.

Oh ooph, yeah, no, I had to move away from it, too, eventually it gave me weird heart/breathing issues, so I moved to nurtec, but that's been a mixed bag of unhelpful. Emgality has been working way better.

So far I'm on a combo of botox, ajovy, nurtec, and excedrin. Plus a lot of preventative "gym with ear plugs/noise cancelling" during early mild ones... and any other dopamine hits I can get without drugs tbh.

I did take my Nurtec and some ibuprofen, or I wouldn't be on my laptop either. But still, this is torture.

Have you talked to your doctor about newer treatments like gepants? If your current migraine meds aren’t doing the trick, you may have more options.

A quarterly infusion selfie for you.
I get infusions of the medication Vyepti for my migraines. I also do Botox injections and take Nurtec every other day. Along with that, I take ibuprofen and Reyvow as needed. Just a reminder that just because some "looks healthy" there can be a lot going on.

maybe its bc its a less common allergy? many people are allergic to menthol and not the actual mint. but i know mines definitely mint because nurtec has menthol in it and that doesnt do anything to hurt me LMAO

Oh, I am very curious about this. I've struggled to medicate my migraines until the last year or so, when we finally convinced my insurer to cover Nurtec. It's been a miracle acute treatment for me, but I worry about overuse and having it become less effective long-term. I hope the study goes well!

I preemptively took a morning nurtec so nothing can stop me!

Looking for experiences with Avjoy.

I’m a college student & nervous about starting a new med that lasts 1 mo + half life.

Wondering about brain fog, memory or concentration issues or if that isn’t a common side effect.

I get Botox every 3 months & use nurtec. —-> 1/2

So I’m calling the migraine I got last night PEM from PT two days earlier. Went to bed at 7:45 — nurtec, Advil, electrolytes, and a migraine cold hat. Woke up pain free but itchy at 3am, finished a good book. Now I’m gonna try to sleep again.

Yuppp. For me, it's that Nurtec can only be taken once every 24 hours and while it is so much more effective than Imitrex ever was for me, every so often I do have a severe migraine that doesn't go away in one dose. Sucks to not have the option of a repeat dose any more!

the pharmacy literally gave me half of my nurtec tablets loose in a random ziplock bag that was stapled inside the usual brown paper bag. okay this is ridiculously funny to me for some reason

Back on Emgality shots starting today. Got my first (free) prescription of Nurtec, now making me have THREE rescue meds I can take! Upped my dose of my other preventative to see if that helps. Keep on trucking! #migrainechat
