I often encounter people who seem to attach to me as an idealized source of nurturance, comfort, and acceptance.
And when I prove to instead be a human being who needs acceptance too, who gets angry too—these people often feel betrayed or tricked.

If I need the sort of nurturance mothers provide, I've at least 14 across a bunch of states, whose "mother's love" doesn't include the abuse [or the expectations] . Genetics makes a start to our being, but it's nurturance and compassion which makes a "Mom". They do not need to be the same being.

Oh, trauma survivors have lots of experience w/ plowing through & getting sh*t done no matter how we feel. We just don't have a lot of experience w/ the project we determinedly chase down being SELF-love & SELF-nurturance.
