OBCM advocating for genocide. They are going to try and brute force change and either force them back into the underclass so they can offer their labor to the machine, or have them end up dying or back on the street in the process. How are you going to tackle recidivism?

Advocate for social safety nets to keep all of us, but especially the most vulnerable from slipping through the cracks.

Fuck the OBCM.

Everyone in Ontario, please read this. Please look into the Ontario Big City Mayors (OBCM) and what they want to do. They keep pushing for "involuntary care" despite calls from a civil liberties group to NOT do that.

They want to rewrite the Mental Health Act and the Healthcare Consent Act.

Appreciate the insights on #ONBudget26 from @mariannemeedward.bsky.social. If she's right, the conversation around what #LocalGov pays for in Ontario, and maybe across Canada, could finally be shifting toward something more equitable.

Can we change that? Guthrie says that pretty much all they can do is advocacy. OBCM and AMO have been focusing on policing costs, and notes the increases to OPP budget that was covered by ONgov ultimately.

Free People boosts Urban Outfitters results in first half
Credits: Free People (via OBCM) American fashion group Urban Outfitters, Inc. (UO) saw increases in both revenue and profit in the first half of the year. UO is the parent company of retailers Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, fashion brand Free People and clothing rental company Nuuly. The group's revenue rose by 11 percent in the first six months. This resulted in record revenue of 2.83 billion dollars. The largest increase was seen at Free People. UO attributes this to an increase in wholesale sales to specialty stores. Each of the companies under the group saw an increase in revenue during the first half of the year. The company's net income increased from 179 million dollars a year earlier to 252 million dollars in the first half of the current fiscal year.
