#OCDTalkHour Very relatable! This conversation is making me want to do an exposure right away 🙂

#OCDTalkHour thank you for the link! I will watch this.

You're so right about it looking like it'll be easier the next time, but never actually being easier

Sounds like you've got a nice busy week planned, Sam. That should be good for you.

This is a great example; really highlights the difference between being a bit fastidious (that's the word! Yea!) and having full-on OCD.

Thanks! I did it (small one though) and I survived. Hm, I'm a bit surprised at how much motivation I got from talking to others with OCD, something to keep in mind for the future. #OCDTalkHour

#OCDTalkHour fun non-OCD topic... anyone else have Halloween plans?
October 28, 2026 at 7:21 PM
Thank you! As so often happens, the time between deciding to do it and actually getting to the process allows my motivation to wane. Hopefully, it will increase again as we work through all the preliminary stuff.

I've gone from having very full weeks planned a month or so ago, to not being able to drag myself out of bed before 11/12. Is strange, like I had an upswing and now I having the downswing.

#OCDTalkHour this! It creeps up over time so it's easy to miss just how much OCD takes from you but when it's laid out it's a LOT. And it makes me sad and angry and yes, it is motivation.

#OCDTalkHour topic - OCD, depression and free time. What do people think?
Hi team, I've missed most of today sorry.

If anyone still has time to chat, my ocd has been medium/bad recently but I've also had a bit of a depressive period. I'm not sure if it's related to not having much on/a lot of free thinking time with the redundancy.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Welcome to #OCDTalkHour, our weekly chat about all things OCD.

Topics are in different threads, this is the hi-how-are-you thread. Hi! How are you?

Remember this is a public forum so only share what you're comfortable with.
October 28, 2026 at 6:59 PM
Yes, absolutely. With depression and OCD both. Also, the redundancy itself is probably contributing to the depression, plus the lengthening night combined with the time change. It's a lot all at once.

Wait, whut, is it an hour earlier or an hour later? My brain hurts. Claude! Claude . . . #OCDTalkHour
I was going to say that I have an online workshop at the same time today, but now, possibly not. Stay tuned sports fans. Heads up @enoughofthis4.bsky.social

This was my second; not sure how many insurance covers in a year, but since we're close to the end of the year, I think weekly or more often will be the go-to for now.

It is such a costly illness in terms of experiences missed, time and (for me) money. The total of what I've lost is so overwhelming I can only look at a chunk of it at a time. Maybe I should put that in the intake form that asks "What else should we know about you?"

That's great. I usually want to crawl into a hole when I think about it. If, in order to stay motivated, you need to leave and do the exposure now, the chat will be here when you get back.

Good to see you George. Sorry you've been struggling lately.

I find OCD expands to fill time - so if you don't have much on it will tend to take up that "free" time. On the other hand I don't find being too busy is necessarily good either. I think the ideal is busy but not stressed? #OCDTalkHour

#OCDTalkHour less fun, more OCD topic... does anyone have any particular themes/compulsions that come up around Halloween (or other holidays)?

What steps can you take to predict, mitigate and fight against these?
