ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE (1969) is in Regal cinemas nationwide tonight.

George Lazenby is brilliant in his only performance as James Bond. Also starring the amazing Diana Rigg and Telly Savalas.

One show only at most theaters! Tickets are $7.99 #FilmSky

Oh, damn, I didn’t know OHMSS was coming to Regal theaters! One day only?

SO excited, now seated at my local Regal for On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. They have been showing one 007 movie a week. I know every beat of this movie by heart, just love it but never seen it on the big screen. Problem rectified! #jamesbond #007 #OHMSS #moviesky

My screening started almost two hours late because of a technical problem, but I wasn’t going to miss my first chance to see OHMSS on the big screen.

It’s absolutely top shelf Bond—and the most beautiful in the series after SKYFALL. Diana Rigg is phenomenal, and Lazenby is criminally underrated.

The trailer used music from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” by John Barry (specifically the remix by Propellerheads.) Michael Giacchino’s score is very bass heavy like Barry’s Bond scores and also very similar to OHMSS.

Great to see OHMSS love as always

Skyfall, CR, FRWL, OHMSS, Thunderball, TLD are my top 6 right now.

It’s been commented on how Julie Christie’s replacement, Susan Hampshire, is introduced a bit like George Lazenby in OHMSS, in that she‘s glimpsed in obscured ways for a while before getting a proper look at her

It's a great movie. I saw it when I was young at a double feature with Diamonds Are Forever. Luckily OHMSS was first because Diamonds, while fun, just went too long. Plus there was a stark difference between a movie and a cartoon.

Tomorrow Never Dies's outro of "Surrender" is much better in a similar fashion to OHMSS. But yeah solid list. I once drove from Chicago to St. Paul with Skyfall on repeat.

On to OHMSS, my fav Bond movie,
Viewed thru modern day trends, those tapes played to cure allergies are really Telly Savalas ASMR.
With some Lazenby uh, traditional nighttime Bond routines.

It sounds like that, but also the scene form OHMSS, when Bond sneaks into and copy files from Comte Balthazar de Bleuchamp’s (Blofeld) lawyers’ offices. But then they are both iconic Barry Bond scores. Hard to know what he was copying (or is it homage?)

there a part of the internet that argues OHMSS is a Christmas movie? Blofeldt has a Xmas tree in his office, the “angels” get the Telly Salavas ASMR kit as gifts and play the bizarre “do you know how Santa gets around?” song when Bond gets to the village.

Poor George.
I thought he was very badly treated and blamed for the disaster that was OHMSS.
It was a very badly edited film, with, arguably the worst Bond villain in the entire series, cast entirely because he had no earlobes!
They tried so hard to make him a carbon copy of Sean Connery. Shame.

Ended up as a proud member of The CTS Dojo on the PA server in WoW due to this...teamed up with Ohmss and the bunch for quite a while. Good memories :)

Saw David Arnold in concert last night. I think I’ve seen him on stage four or five times now and he’s always really modest, witty, really generous with his anecdotes. I think the man’s a national treasure. And as a bonus, he brought out Alex Gifford from Propellerheads, for all your Big Beat needs.

That's not a theme song though! I made the concession for the Louis Armstrong song in OHMSS because it was such a big song, even if it's in the middle of the movie.

A real departure with OHMSS in that it’s not only the first in the series to ‘reboot’ with a new actor playing Bond but also the first without any intro song. There’s just John Barry’s instrumental score to accompany the main titles.

Also I had heard for years that OHMSS served as major

I maintain that the reason people didn’t like OHMSS is because Diana Rigg acted circles around him, and Bond can never be second fiddle.

have always recognized On Her Majesty's Secret Service in the snow segment of Inception but revisiting OHMSS I'm also seeing that Nolan has had this location from the opening stuck in his minds eye as well, and brings that influence to Inception for sure, but also Dunkirk and now The Odyssey

1. Poor Will & The Jolly Hangman
2. OHMSS (soundtrack is fantastic)
3. Them cheesy ones you get in the deli in Hereford, they’re like crack.
