#OMP
Herdr is an Apache-2.0 terminal runtime for coding agents, including OMP and Hermes. It keeps agents running after client detachment, shows their state and unifies local/SSH machines. CLI/socket controls operate the agents' existing terminal interfaces.
Herdr runs a background server that owns terminal panes. Each pane can contain an existing coding agent, shell, test command or development server. The terminal client is a view into those processes; disconnecting that client does not end the work.

Comparative analysis of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays in detection of Orientia tsutsugamushi from mite vectors
Orientia tsutsugamushi is the causative agent of scrub typhus infection in humans. This pathogen is transmitted into mammalian hosts including humans through Leptotrombidium mites. Till date, detection of O. tsutsugamushi in human was performed using PCR assay with 56kDa type specific antigen (TSA56), 47kDa outer membrane protein (47kDa-OMP) and groEL chaperonin gene. To understand the efficiency of different genes for the detection of O. tsutsugamushi in Leptotrombidium mites, we performed a comparative PCR assay with various universal primers targeting different genes including TSA56, 47kDa-OMP and groEL gene. We have collected 500 Leptotrombidium mites from Vellore, Tamil Nadu and, the mites were segregated into 50 pools with 10 mites in each pool were used for DNA extraction. The molecular detection of O. tsutsugamushi was performed using PCR assays (including conventional, nested and duplex PCR). The comparative PCR analysis showed nested PCR of groEL gene has high efficiency in detecting the presence of O. tsutsugamushi in chigger samples compared to other genes. Interestingly, groEL target demonstrated high efficiency for detection of O. tsutsugamushi in chigger samples and, when used with nested primers, can facilitate differentiation of O. tsutsugamushi from other rickettsial pathogens. Thus, we conclude groEL gene nested PCR assay can be used routinely to detect O. tsutsugamushi in trombiculid mites.

nah, just a little in-house thing we made for fun, you can probably ask omp to build one using omp-rpc in ~5mins though

OpenViking already has a historical-log ingestion tool that replays supported coding-agent logs through its normal session pipeline, but OMP/pi logs are not currently listed. Adding an OMP parser looks preferable to inventing a separate memory-import path.
OpenViking includes openviking-server ingest for historical agent logs. The tool parses existing local conversations and replays them through the same create-session, add-message, commit pipeline used by live integrations. It can also watch supported local logs for new sessions.

OpenViking has an official pi extension with automatic recall, turn capture, commits, and MCP tools. OMP accepts legacy pi.extensions manifests, so reuse looks plausible, but this exact OMP combination is not documented as supported and should be tested.

OpenViking ships an official pi Coding Agent extension. It performs automatic recall before prompts, captures turns, commits sessions, can take over compacted context, and mirrors the server's MCP tools into pi.

Agents API handles an agent's session and execution loop. Your app still owns admission, bus routing, external authority, self-hosted lifecycle and outcome validation. A completed turn can contain failed tools; cancellation does not establish rollback of external effects.
Agents API fits applications that want OpenAI to operate the Codex model/tool loop and retain sessions. Configuring it does not replace that harness with the application's OMP or Lisp runtime.

RT @realmidi12: I use omp with tmux for multiple persistent sessions, tern looks like a major improvement for my current use. Can I manage multiple sessions throught the UI as well ? Also is there a diff view for edits made by the agents other than the code editor ? or it is enough mby

omp is measurably faster in tern vs. ghostty, but as I said below, it's really not a fair comparison (esp since I know he put a lot of thought into making the buffer super efficient).

I don't think this protocol makes any sense at <current year> and have directed my efforts elsewhere vs.
While I haven't benchmarked it against ghostty and so on, performance wise it's essentially pointless to compare since it transmits high-level component information, hence avoiding literally everything that makes it expensive, for both the terminal & the app.

Tern is now feature complete! Needs a bit of beta-testing but, to be with you in a couple of weeks @ http://scl.so/tern 🤞
v1.0.0 will have:
- Persistent sessions & remoting over QUIC via Tailscale / Iroh
- Browser panes & picture-in-picture observability for agents under omp + native components

OSS-only changes Graphify's role: its Cloud agent-memory feature is excluded. Graphify OSS remains useful as a local project-structure graph and narrow work-result memory, but I would not treat it as a drop-in general OMP session-memory backend.

With vendor cloud excluded, Graphify Cloud Agent Memory drops out of this comparison. The open-source Graphify core remains a local knowledge-graph system for project artifacts and exposes work-result capture and reflection, but its public OMP/Pi integrations focus on graph construction, query, and…

Historical OMP backfill maps cleanly to Hindsight, Mem0, and Graphiti: Hindsight can upsert a whole conversation by stable document_id; Mem0 accepts message arrays plus run_id; Graphiti accepts episodes and has a Pi extension with transcript-file ingestion. Idempotency still needs testing.

Hindsight recommends retaining a full conversation as one item. A stable document_id gives replace-and-reprocess semantics when the same conversation is retained again, and batch retention supports bulk ingestion. That makes an OMP session id a natural document id.

For historical OMP sessions, build one backend-neutral importer. OMP session files are JSONL trees with branches and compaction, so reconstruct the effective transcript through OMP session semantics instead of concatenating JSONL records, then feed normalized sessions to each backend.
OMP stores sessions as JSONL, but the logical conversation is a tree: entries have ids and parent ids, a leaf selects the active branch, and compaction and reset entries affect reconstructed context. The documented SessionManager builds effective context from this structure.
