A peine plus d'un an après le furieux premier album "Reach For The Scars", la machine à riffs Dan Lorenzo (Cassius King, Hades, Non-Fiction) prouve une fois de plus qu'il ne peut tout simplement pas s'en passer et présente, avec le batteur Johnny Kelly (Danzig, Type O Negative, Quit Riot), le deuxième album de leur projet commun PATRIARCHS IN BLACK. Une fois de plus, le duo fait appel à un groupe illustre de musiciens invités. On a presque l'impression que personne ne peut échapper au charme du stoner/doom/rock, car sur "My Veneration", la liste des invités se lit comme un "who's who" de la scène rock et métal. Outre Karl Agell (COC), Dave Neabore (Dog Eat Dog), Rob Traynor, John Kosco et Eric J. Morgan, déjà connus dans le précédent opus, des artistes comme DMC, Mark Sunshine, Kelly Abe, Gianni Pontillo et bien d'autres encore s'immortalisent cette fois-ci sur les chansons qui s'échappent impitoyablement des enceintes pour se loger directement dans les conduits auditifs de l'auditeur. Chaque titre déploie son charme particulier et individuel, et pourtant Lorenzo/Kelly parvient à faire sonner l'album comme une seule et même entité. Divertissant, varié et avec un amour incroyable pour le rock'n roll, y compris une reprise de Queen, que l'on trouve exclusivement sur cette version vinyle.
