HerStory. OurStory.
Eric Hoffer points this out in his book The True Believer: most effective mass movements are started and sustained by large groups of women. This is true across time and cultures.

And they always do this dismissal in response. It may work in the short term, but with persistence, the activists win.
In all seriousness though, elder millennial jokes aside, I think it’s important to resist the media framing of any mainstream resistance to the status quo as just the shrill nonsense of middle-aged women with nothing better to do. This isn’t the first time they’ve run out this playbook.

OurStory is painfully America……
In 1941, as the U.S. prepared for WWII, the American Red Cross launched a national blood program for the military. What most people don’t know: the program initially banned Black Americans from donating at all. This was Jim Crow in a lab coat. (cont)

A 1940s Red Cross rule, which racially segregated blood, propped up notions of racial difference and Black inferiority.

Remember how many of us posted & talked about the dangers of Project 2025?
Then, people didn’t vote & apparently didn’t believe us.

Here’s a thread of graphics I made of Project 2025 plans that have already come to fruition. Feel free to use with an I told you so.

Women Died. HerStory. OurStory.
146 workers died in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire on this day in 1911. The bosses responsible were never held accountable for the awful working conditions that sparked the blaze. Remember this today as politicians and their corporate backers attack workplace safety.
