@OWGF How do you intend addressing the need for growth in the current debt-based broad money system? Without changing it to an equity-based model that systemic issue won't go away.

Sorry if this is old news for you and you have a plan!

I really like this idea. Speaking of both #regrowth and #degrowth gives a more positive and balanced framing that might bring more people in. This more positive valence (the world we have to gain rather than only what we are giving up) is one […]

@OWGF @urbantruth.bsky.social Also walking. My favourite cities (including my own!) are pretty hopeless by train and even sometimes quite awkward by bike, but they're great for walking.

@OWGF As towns and cities in the UK have changed in my lifetime, there has been a progression from noisy, fume-filled streets in the 70s to much quieter town-centres with pedestrianised areas, and reduce-traffic on other roads, made even quieter more recently by the EVs and electric buses and […]

Why do we have to constantly fight business owners, local governments and city planners to reduce the number of cars on some of our streets...?

@OWGF That's a really good video, especially with the links to the Half Earth Socialism.

I must say I'm just a little tired of the youtubers using clips from Dear Alice and even the Arcane series and ignoring all of the artists from the https://storyseedlibrary.org/ , who specifically create […]

All cities in Europe should do this. I remember visiting Bologna during a heatwave and the cute little paved piazzas without a single tree were asphyxiating.

@OWGF And where do the solar panels come from? 85% of them come from a single country: China. With nuclear energy at least you have more options: South Korea, Russia, China, France, USA.

Do you know of any country that is powered mostly by solar? Let's […]

@OWGF Electricity is cheap in France and they generate most of it with nuclear energy.

The reason electricity in Pakistan became so expensive in recent years is because they import a lot of fossil fuels. Not to mention taxes and other fees unrelated to the actual generation and grid made for […]

@OWGF Easy, build the grid too. There's plenty of big cities and towns in Africa with an electric grid already, more and more people will move to them for a better future. Which is also coincidentally something we need to do to reduce our environmental impact. Higher density of everything means […]
