PEOPLE: - Eiji Aonuma, age 41. Director of The Wind Waker . - A. Honda. One half of “Akira Himekawa”, the Zelda manga artist/writer duo. QUOTE: Aonuma: When we decided to set The Wind Waker in the sea, we thought a race that could fly through the sky was absolutely necessary. … Then we remembered Rouru of the Watarara from your manga. I liked that story a lot. In the end, the story ended up being different from the manga, but the Rito race that appears in The Wind Waker was influenced by Rouru. Honda: … When we were asked to write a bonus story [for the Ocarina of Time manga], we wanted to introduce a new race, but all that was left was one that could fly in the sky. Aonuma: Ha ha ha! We were thinking the same thing!
