Lebanon started a war with Israel on OCT08, firing rockets at Israel until Israel removed hizbollasses ability to launch rockets and resupply. Syria and Israel have been at war since Syria first invaded in 1947 and again in 1967 and 1972. Syria allowed Iran to train terrorists in Syria.

The NBER did a study on how many hours people spent homemaking pre-electricity vs. today and found the difference in time to be pretty miniscule.

Even with dishwashers, laundry rooms, etc. it still takes you roughly the same time to do chores as your great-grandparents

I’ve always assumed that we already automated a lot of domestic labor away (ie dishwashers and washing machines are the AI that does your chores for you) and was interested to see that the data we have from 20th century surveys don’t really support that www.nber.org/digest/oct08...
