Part of it depends on what you're doing, or how much data.
Most cloud services can be replaced by local applications and drive space.
Workplace requirements aside, office365 can be replaced with Libre office. Same for google apps, the open source community has lots of options.

In the meantime - you can rollback to a version that won't hold your stuff hostage and will at least let you edit and *save* your documents. You'll need to disable automatic updates so it does not do it again though. www.reddit.com/r/Office365/...
