Next time I need to dump some rubbish I'll just put all my assets into an offshore company and go bankrupt, save $660 a year.

Chancellor's new offshore wind project rules 'putting billions for Scotland's renewables at risk'
November 2, 2026 at 10:03 PM
The UK is an offshore wind superpower

We have near-perfect conditions for generating power offshore and produce around 20% of the world’s offshore wind energy

So, vetoing new wind projects is exactly the sort of ridiculously Labour move you’d expect from a party so heavily owned by big oil and gas
If you thought the @andyburnham.bsky.social government was going to be different, you were right

After re-opening the North Sea to more exploitation of gas (and probably oil), they now have renewables in their sights

It really does beggar belief

If capitalism is so great why do corporations need tax breaks, offshore accounts, exemptions, subsidies, grants, bailouts, legal protections, and trade barriers to survive?

Because of the way the UK energy market works, this would just block all new offshore wind, which would be an insane policy.

Labour won't end up doing this, so the real question becomes: who is briefing this out, and why?

Wind energy is so much better.
Your TAX DOLLARS are being spent to help the Oil and Gas industry, very bad for taxpayers and the environment.

It's shocking that the most destructive fishing methods are allowed in our 'protected areas', and makes a mockery of the whole concept of PAs

If governments won't rein in destructive fishing then I'm all for direct action
