Schoolhouse Woodcrafts And the variety of works continued with carved wooden birdhouses… Kimberly Rorick …canine clay sculptures… Maltry CreativeCarousel House Studio …watercolor and print critters… Mike AltmanJeannie Brigger …lively creations in 3-D mixed media and so much more. A few steps from the artist area was an activity section for children… …where they could further develop their artistic abilities… …their musical talents… …their skills in puppetry… …and their expression through face painting. And, if hunger struck, guest could browse through a lane of food trucks… Tortilla …offering everything from tacos and burritos… Burger N Smile …to classic burgers and fries… The Tasty Good …allowing them to get easily nab some chicken fingers or a Hawaiian dish… …take it to the stage… …and enjoy their meal while listening to some great music (Blue Spectrum).

St. Michael’s Festival is a great festival for families, offering games, inflatables and a carnival for kids. Way in the back, up the steps… …a carnival area was set up with rides… …games and fair food… …and the activities continued along the main grounds with a dunk tank… …and an entire kids’ gaming area… …where a variety of classic games could be played… …with tokens purchased at the entrance. For adults not stuck in the Kiddyland area… …they had their own games… …plenty of beer and wine… …and great music entertainment (The Joint Rockers). Hungry guests of all ages could find refreshments, pizza… …snacks and desserts at various stations… …but you wanted to line up for the big tent… …for all the better options… …and it was pretty tasty. Finally, before leaving, it was best to check inside… …as there was a large silent auction… …with an impressive bourbon raffle… …and a bake sale table in the back… …in case you wanted to take something home.

Fortunately, there are plenty of fun Mom-related festivals this weekend that includes an antique shopping festival called **Treasure Fest** in Oberlin, Floral Festivals like the **Lilac Festival and Street Fair**(**Review**) in Defiance and the **Huber Heights Marigold Festival** , the **Biggest Week in American Birding** (**Review**) in the Oak Harbor Area, and all sorts of **Mother’s Day Themed Markets** in cities like Cleveland, Findlay, Dublin, and Cincinnati. Plus there’s **Chillicothe Trade Days** , a**Gothic Market** in Dayton, a**Gazebo Garden Walk** in Wellington, the **Medina Beer Fest** , **Maifest** in Zoar, the **Appalachian Festival** in New Richmond, and the **Cincinnati Villain Arts Tattoo Festival**. ### **Burning Snowman to finally rid the Winter, plus Suhoor Fests and more!** Welcome back, festival fans. While one part of me is saying “I’m done with winter,” the other is saying “It’s still only February.” Fortunately, we’re at the _tail end_ of February… …and a festival in Port Clinton is going to bring us a **Burning Snowman** (**Review**) to help rid of winter for good (at least, for this season) – while throwing in some food, live music and fun times galore. ### **Winter temps return for Brite Winter, Perry Winterfest and the Medina Ice Festival!** Welcome back, festival fans. Those Kurents did a great job last weekend when they scared away the winter, bringing warm weather to Ohio and melting all the snow we’ve been living with. And while it may be a little disappointing for the temperatures to dip down again this weekend, it creates the perfect environment for some of this weekend’s festivals. One such festival that’s great in winter weather is **Brite Winter** (**Review**). And it’s returning Saturday to Cleveland’s Waterloo Arts District with all the fantastic Art and Art-Making, over 30 bands, Food, bonfires and more (this is a ticketed event). Another great winter festival is the **Medina Ice Festival** (**Review**) because who wants warm weather when you have over 120 Ice Carvings, a Fire and Ice Tower, Ice Carving Competitions and more? Believe me, I went once when the temps were in the upper 50’s and it was sad to see the ice sculptures melting away. Also this weekend are the **Perrysburg Winterfest** – a good winter festival – and indoor fests like **Beatlefest** in Kent, a **Greek Food Festival** in Campbell, all sorts of shows, vendor markets and more. ### **Valentine’s Day, Paczki and the Kurents!** Welcome back, festival fans. We just got a taste of some warmer weather and there may be more ahead, especially if the Slovenian Kurents have their way on Saturday. The **Cleveland Kurentovanje Winter Festival** (**Review**) returns to Cleveland so that the Kurents can parade down the street, ring their bells and shake their sticks to scare the winter away. Plenty of delicious food, music and merriment to accompany the celebration. It’s also **Valentine’s Day** on Saturday. So, if you haven’t already made a dinner reservation, you can take your beloved to the **Chocolate Lovers’ Fest** in Genoa, the **We Love Beer** in Cincinnati, **Hearts Afire Weekend** in Loveland or choose among a variety of Vendor, Reptile, Comic and Home and Garden Shows (just depends on your interest). And don’t forget that Fat Tuesday is this coming Tuesday, February 17 and it’s the day of the **paczki**! ### **Ice-A-Fair, Winter Blues, Beer and early Valentine’s!** Welcome back, festival fans. The weather has warmed a bit, perhaps making you a little more curious on what’s going on around you. In fact, it’s perfect weather for fun Ice Festivals like the **Ice-A-Fair** (**Review**) in downtown Vermilion. The festival is a nice excuse to explore the downtown, check out the sculptures and live ice carvings, get some chocolate at Brummer’s… …and warm up during Ice-A-Fair’s finale. Down in the Cincinnati area, you can enjoy great music at the **Winter Blues Experience** or enjoy beer with your friends at **Cincy Beerfest**. And, if you have a loved one, you can find some gifts at **Valentine’s Day themed markets** in Akron, Avon, Cleveland and Findlay. ### **Indoor Shows, Winter and Ice Fests, and Paczki Season!** Welcome back, festival fans. Hopefully all of you are safe and sound after last weekend’s weather. Since the temperatures are still really cold, you are likely looking for indoor events this weekend, which you will find in the forms of a **Home and Garden Show** , a **Fishing Expo** , **Ohayocon** and more. There’s also the **St. Brigid Light the Land Festival** at Forest City Brewery in Cleveland, where the celebration is meant to call out to the Spring. But, if you’re not ready to push winter away just yet or if you prefer to wait and see what the Groundhog does on February 2, there are some **Ice** and **Winter Festivals** to celebrate this weekend as well. You can always push winter away at the **Cleveland Kurentovanje Winter Festival** on February 14 or at the **Burning Snowman Festival**in Port Clinton on February 28. ### **Beer, RVs and Winter!** Welcome back, festival fans. As we continue to settle in the new year, there aren’t very many festivals to be had this weekend. There are some **RV shows** in Cleveland and Columbus (something to consider for when festival season kicks up), a few remaining **Holiday Light Festivals** still, a **Beer Festival** I just found out about in Cleveland and the**Mohican Winter Fest**(**Review**), which includes a model train expo. I’ve been working on updating the**2026 Festival Guide** and have gone as far as July. I may wait a few weeks before updating months like August and as my efforts haven’t been so fruitful. For now, I’ll continue to work on the earlier months. ### **Thanksgiving Weekend is here with the official start of the Holiday Season!** Welcome back, festival fans. Thanksgiving has finally arrived, so this week’s post will be completed a little earlier. If you are **traveling out of state** this weekend, please check out the links below for festival posts in the other states, broken up into the following Regions: **Northern Region** (from Minnesota to New York, Missouri to Maryland) **Southern Region** (everywhere south of the Northern Region, Louisiana to Florida) **Western Region** (Western Coast states and then Southwestern states over to Texas and up to Kansas). Now that the Holiday Season has officially begun, there are even more **Holiday Light Festivals** starting up this weekend and running through the rest of the year.
