I can highly suggest the Okura for a splash-out in Tokyo (I got a good deal with card points). Fabulous service, amazing midcentury-type vibes.

The 1960s building and iconic lobby was redone in 2015 - they brought in the son of the original designer and it’s very hard to tell it’s not original.
